Richard Straussman is a partner at Morgan & Finnegan specializing in patent litigation in the U.S.courts; prosecution before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, primarily in the electrical, computer, optics and mechanical arts; handling opinion matters; and conducting intellectual property-related corporate due diligence. He has drafted and prosecuted numerous patent applications and rendered written opinions on such issues as validity, enforceability and infringement of U.S. patents. He also has handled diverse matters such as copyright infringement, drafting an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court, and arguing a criminal appeal before the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York for the First Judicial Department on behalf of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office as a special assistant district attorney. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Straussman held the position of senior engineer for a prominent electronics corporation.
